Carbon Plate- ASTM A 36 Standard specification for Carbon Structural Steel

This specification covers structural shapes, bars, and plate to be used for general structural purposes.

General requirements for delivery
Material shall conform to the requirements of ASTM A 6.

Chemical Requirements (plate only)

Single values are maximums. For each reduction of 0.01% below the specified carbon maximum, an increase of 0.06% manganese above the specified maximum will be permitted up to the maximum of 1.35%. Subject to product analysis tolerances in ASTM A 6.

Tensile Requirements (plate only)
